This is the view from my perch in Escazu. We rented a small studio with a big view for a month here in the mountains of San Jose, overlooking the valley and the lights. It has been a really peaceful place to sit and soak in the beautiful, harmonious vibes of Costa Rica. My first few times in San Jose I really wasn’t a fan of the city. Maybe I am just tired of the hustle and bustle after four years in Kinshasa. But then we found this little place high up in the mountains and it has made me fall in love with this city. I think one can fall in love with just about any place if they stay there long enough to discover its secrets. Just a few days ago we discovered the secret of Pico Blanco,  just behind us. We hiked up part of this beautiful peak and enjoyed the sounds of gushing streams and mountain breezes through the trees. It has been a long time since I’ve spent any time in the mountains and I think that maybe this was exactly what I needed to bring this new life into the world, feet grounded while kissing the sky high above San Jose.
