Baker’s beach is the south end of Playa Guiones and is also known as “Beginner’s Beach” because the waves are much smaller than on the north end. So we spend quite a bit of time at Baker’s. It’s also the more epically beautiful end of the beach. At low tide, there are little tide pools that appear and provide keikis a safe harbor to play in for a couple of hours. We have spent many hours in these pools with our son Dasan. I would have to say it’s his favorite place in the world.
This is a photo I took there last night at sunset. Every evening this place is completely different. We had a huge storm these past few days and this shifted sand and brought in rocks and other debris. In a few days time this scene will be gone forever, but a new one will appear.
