Light. Beautiful, sweet light. It’s something we take for granted. I learned this during my travels in DRC because most of the country remains in the dark once the sun goes down. But thanks to my awesome fiancee, Antonio Nevada Martinez, and the amazing project we worked on, ASSP, these people in Kawadje, just outside of Gbadolite in Nord Ubangi, enjoyed this beautiful solar light penetrating the darkness from their newly constructed health center. I took this picture just before one of the 2,034 movie nights we held across four provinces that we worked in. The community loved these nights and flocks of people would arrive from all over the village.
