The truth is, the world is getting better. It is rare to find a child that looks like this, even in Congo. Organizations like mine, IMA, have done a really good job of eliminating problems like malnutrition in the world’s poorest place. The problem is, it DOES still exist. And so we must continue on until it is impossible to take a picture like this one I took in Tshikaji, a village about 12 miles outside of Kananga. I was investigating the great work our nutrition program was doing. I interviewed one of our community health workers and then I asked her to take me to see some of the cases of malnutrition she had found. She brought me to this child. That day we took him to a rehabilitation center and now he is a healthy little boy. AID WORKS.
